The Thirteenth Triennial Symposium of the ISTRC will be held in Arusha, Tanzania on 9-14 November 2003.

The theme for the sympoium will be "Tropical Root and Tuber Crops: Opportunities for Poverty Alleviation and Sustainable Livelihoods in the Developing World." The Symposium is being jointly organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS), the Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) and ISTRC.
